Aetna CSO Jim Routh on Why We Need a Whole New Approach to Cybersecurity
Security thought leaders have long called for organizations to shift from a conventional “peacetime” view of cybersecurity to more of a “wartime” mindset. Aetna CSO Jim Routh now says it’s time for enterprises to shift from conventional to unconventional security controls.
In a video interview at Information Security Media Group’s recent New York Security Summit, Routh discusses:
- The new trend in cybersecurity control evolution;
- His view of unconventional controls;
- How to approach talent management for security.
Routh is the chief security officer and leads the global security function at the healthcare insurer Aetna. He is the chairman of the NH-ISAC board. He serves on the board of the National Cyber Security Alliance and is a member of the advisory board of the ClearSky Security Fund. He was formerly the global head of application and mobile security for JP Morgan Chase and CISO for KPMG, DTCC and American Express.
