ISMG’s Executive Roundtables focus on specific challenges being faced by information security executives in today’s cybersecurity landscape. Moderated by one of ISMG’s Executive Editors and a guest industry expert, Roundtables give cybersecurity professionals the opportunity to discuss threats and controls with a handful of market leaders in an informal setting, from which you will emerge with new ideas and solutions you can immediately put to work to improve your own organization’s defensive posture.
Topic
Getting Cyber Right – Towards a Reasonable Level of Care
Cyber-attacks and data breaches have become a standard business risk. With data breaches seeming to make daily headlines, and hackers developing innovative methods to penetrate cyber defenses, businesses must contemplate what “reasonable” security posture it must implement for WHEN, not IF, a data breach occurs.
However, the industry still needs to have a common definition for ‘reasonable’ to: (1) have an expectation that will build that level of protection and trust in security posture when collectively doing business together, and (2) to demonstrate or prove security risk posture in a dispute resolution (be that in a court of law or otherwise).
- What does “reasonable” mean in today’s threat landscape?
- What regulatory framework makes the most sense to maintain a “reasonable” degree of protection while not handicapping organizational productivity?
Care to learn more about how to navigate the complex landscape of cyber “reasonability”? Then join ISMG’s Nick Holland for an exclusive roundtable that will draw from the experiences of the attendees, offering insights on how today’s organizations can be prepared to meet the challenges of the inevitable data breach and its aftermath.
Discussion topics will include:
- Where today’s organizations are falling short of regulatory requirements
- The elements of a reasonable level of care
- Implementing zero trust and continuity-of-operations strategies
Joining Nick to provide expert insight and case studies is Jonathan Nguyen-Duy, VP Strategy and Analytics, from Fortinet.
